About the Camp
The individual Day Camp is for the dedicated youth player (Ages 9-12). This is a full day camp for the youth player who wants to improve his overall baseball skills. All areas of baseball are covered at length daily. Our morning sessions are very defensive oriented working on throwing, fielding and team play. The afternoon sessions shifts to the offensive part of the game including bunting, base running and hitting.
Campers will be grouped according to age, physical maturity, experience and overall ability. The camp will have a limited enrollment to ensure continual instruction for all participants. Each session will run from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm, and will include:
- Lectures on fundamentals
- Daily Drill Work in throwing, fielding and hitting
- Live hitting on the field as well as use of batting cages
- Base Running Drills including Sliding Competition
- Scrimmage games
- Lunch
The camp is held at the GCSU Peeler Athletic Complex, the location of John Kurtz Field. This beautiful baseball facility provides the campers with a tremendous working environment and a great baseball experience.
